Dr. Yasmin Chotocruz: Optimal Wellness Program
Optimal Wellness Program
Dr. Chotocruz works as a primary care physician and family practitioner at the Natural Childbirth and Family Clinic (NCFC). She has established an "Optimal Wellness Program" to help families and individuals to improve their health and vitality, lose weight permanently, and enhance metabolism.
The wellness program is designed to bring back physical and mental wellbeing.
The "Optimal Wellness Program" keys for success are:
- NUTRITION: healthy eating to achieve hormonal balance, to increase your fat burning potential and achieve long term weight loss. You will be instructed to use diet and nutrient strategies to optimize fitness gains.
- SMART EXERCISE: you will learn how to exercise effectively to burn fat and build muscle mass, to maintain bone density and increase resting metabolic rate.
- BODY COMPOSITION TESTING: height, weight, body mass index, basal metabolic rate, body fat percentage, fat free mass, total body water, skinfold calipers, and circumferences.
- LABORATORY TESTING: To identify areas of weight loss resistance and nutrient deficiencies and to help create customized nutrient recommendations based on biochemistry. Testing is backed by the science and reliability of Metametrix Clinical Laboratory.
- AREAS OF WEIGHT LOSS RESISTANCE: identify and heal each area to impact weight loss and long term weight management success.
- HORMONE BALANCING: Balancing the main hormones that affect well being, body weight and body composition: thyroid, sex hormones, cortisol, DHEA, insulin, leptin, and ghrelin, with the use of supplements and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy when indicated.
- DETOXIFICATION: toxic build up slows down metabolism and disrupts hormone and neurotransmitter balance. Examples of toxic substances include alcohol, sugar, artificial sweeteners, food additives, chemical solvents, pesticides, and heavy metals.
- MANAGEMENT OF CONDITIONS: that are caused by or are exacerbated by obesity, for example high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and depression.
- TARGETED SUPPLEMENTATION: for fat metabolism, to increase energy and heal areas of weight loss resistance. Clinically effective products based only on the most current evidence-based research.
- COUNSELING AND COACHING: identifying behaviors and thinking that can lead to failure, learning how to replace bad habits with incompatible ones, and behavior modification through "Strategies for Success."
- FOLLOW UP TESTING: to monitor progress and assess need for treatment adjustments.
